Service Description

Sports massage will focus on a specific area, helps increase blood circulation, improves range of movement, promotes muscle growth and prevents from sports injuries. After consultation your therapist will warm up the muscle group and gradually increase the pressure combined with muscle insertion and origin focused treatment. After the massage your therapist will recommend self-care, like stretches individual need to follow after the treatment. Usually follow-up massage sessions are needed for better improvement. We try to minimise discomfort as much as possible, but as part of the treatment when working on deeper tissues there may be discomfort. What to wear? We would advise arriving in flexible, stretchy shorts, or sensible underwear you don't mind moving around in. Aftercare: 1. Avoid strenuous activity Your muscles will be softer and looser after a massage, this softening lasts about 24 hours, exercise may pull or move the tissue and cause more pain. 2. Drink plenty of water Stay hydrated to help flush waste and prevent next-day soreness. 3. Avoid hot bath or shower Heat can increase dehydration. And potentially lead to skin damage or inflammation. 4. Stretch Stretching after massage can help your muscles to cool down, recover and flush out toxins faster, prevent muscle pain, loosen up your muscles, and improve blood flow. 5. Do not use alcohol, smoke, or drink coffee Massage increases circulation, alcohol and nicotine have stronger effect on you as goes straight into your bloodstream after a session. When you drink coffee caffeine can tense up your relaxed muscles and stress out your nervous system and dehydrates you. It is recommended that you wait few hours to have a cup of coffee after your massage. 6. Avoid heavy meals Your digestive system is increased, and you may feel hungry after a massage. However, your body is doing hard work by getting rid of lactic acid, therefore, food will be another hard work added to your body to process. By doing so, your massage will be less beneficial and most likely you will feel tired, bloated, and even feel nauseous. If you can’t resist hunger, have some snack for at least next 2 hours. 7. Rub arnica on the affected areas to heighten recovery of the worked areas.
